Belgian artist Pegassi releases "Ascension," the first high-octane single from his upcoming debut EP, arriving on September 4 via his label, Sweet Nothing.

One of the most compelling artists to emerge from Europe in recent years, Pegassi is the creative alias of Belgian DJ and producer Sam Huybrecht . He has built a signature sound that fuses trance, techno, Eurodance, house, and hip hop, crafting high-energy rhythms built for the rave. His momentum began to build in 2022, with releases such as " Yoyoyo " and " Wanna Feel " drawing attention, while his music has earned the support of artists including Fisher, Marlon Hoffstadt, Trym, and Anetha.

Now, Pegassi is bringing those different sides of his sound together on Ascension, his forthcoming debut EP on his own label Sweet Nothing . Arriving on September 4 , the four-track release brings together the different influences and ideas he has explored in recent years, shifting between various textures, moods, and his techno-trance sound. "This EP is all about showing my versatility as an artist,” he said, with each track reflecting “the different sides of my sound and everything I’ve been developing over the past few years.”

To give listeners a taste of what's to come, Pegassi kicks off the project with the EP's title track. The first single balances soaring atmospheric synths with driving rhythms, offering an early glimpse into the range explored across the rest of the release.

'Ascension' has been part of my sets for two years now. Every time I played it, the reaction told me it was ready, I just needed the right moment to release it. It feels like the right way to open this chapter.
